Open Access Publishing and the Philosophy

Publishing philosophical works in Open Access is still not an easy choice for many academic philosophers. Consolidated economies of prestige and lack of cost transparency seem sometimes even to discourage them from choosing publishers that can make their works immediatly accessible to the entire scientific community. However, there are now many sensible options for publishing in Open Access, without costs for authors but still with a rigorous certification of the scientific quality of the publication .This section provide information on the benefits of Open Access pblishing for philosophers, but without concealing the still critical points of this model.   Both with this section and with its blog, Euporia wants to contribute to a neutral and informed discussion about the available venues for Open Access publishing of scientific works in philosophy and, in this way, to increase the transparency of the different Open Access publishing models.
